Abstract

About 85% of the world phosphate fertilizer production is based on the use of phosphoric acid, obtained via wet phosphoric acid (WPA) processes. In WPA processes phosphate rock is digested using sulphuric acid, yielding a slurry of phosphoric acid and a calcium sulphate precipitate.
