Abstract
This study aimed to compare the learning performance of grade 5 Thai students in Chinese vocabulary skills before and after using a task-based teaching method, as well as their satisfaction. We collected the quantitative data through teaching, Chinese vocabulary skill tests (pre-test and post-test), and student satisfaction questionnaires. For the first research objective, we analyzed the data using a paired sample t-test, while the second objective relied on mean, standard deviation (SD), and thematic analysis. The study's findings demonstrated a significant improvement in Chinese vocabulary skills learning performance. All participants had high scores on the students' satisfaction questionnaires. It indicated a statistically significant improvement in Chinese vocabulary skills and students' satisfaction. This study clearly showed that students were very supportive of the task-based teaching method, which can improve Chinese vocabulary skills and students' satisfaction.
