Abstract

Background. Thioacetamide (TAA), a well-known hepatotoxin, has been used to induce liver fibrosis and cirrhosis, but it also leads to the development of hyperplastic liver nodules, liver cell adenomas, hepato and cholangiocarcinomas (CCA). Recently, it has been shown that leptin enhances the growth of cholangiocarcinoma (CCA) cells in vitro.
