Abstract

AbstractA quick method for the determination of total cholesterol in blood serum is described. The method uses antimony pentachloride solution as reagent, a chemical not used in quantitative determination of total cholesterol hitherto. A very fast extraction of the cholesterol from the blood serum is assisted by the selective permeability of vyon discs of different solvents. A correlation study between this method and the Kinn‐Goldberg method, and an interference study, are included.
