Abstract

We suggest two new procedures for the evaluation of the irreversibility line (IL) in superconductors based on AC susceptibility measurements: limiting case j c →0 in the H–T plane from 1) exponents of AC field and temperature dependencies in the extreme-flux-flow-model; 2) voltage-current characteristics. The arguments in favor of these determinations of IL are given. Both methods are compared with other definitions of IL on melt-textured-melt-grown YBaCuO samples. The scaling curves near IL are given. It is emphasized to clearly specify the experimental conditions, if the determination of IL depends on them.
