Abstract

Inverse geometric problems of the anisotropic theory of elasticity for bodies with cracks of arbitrary configuration are investigated using a linear approach. Questions of the uniqueness of solution of the inverse problems that arise are studied, and effective schemes are constructed for solving them by a combination of the boundary element method and a regularized iteration procedure. The example of the reconstruction of a rectilinear crack in an orthotropic layer is examined.
