Abstract

An inversion technique is described enabling thermal diffusion data to be directly related to an intermolecular potential energy function. The accuracy of the method is tested by using simulated data and found to give results to within 1% in r of the potential function used to generate the data. The method is then applied to argon and krypton and found to give potential functions in good agreement with those previously established.
