Abstract

In an on-line isotope separator there may be appreciable decay of short-lived nuclides during the time of transit T t to the collector. From the measured activity on the collector as a function of time and from the distribution p( T t) in the values of T t, it is possible to determine cross-section values for forming products of nuclear reactions that take place in the target.
