The extraction of cadmium (II) from aqueous solution in the absence and presence of complexing agents into chloroform containing oxine has been carried out under suitable conditions such that identifications of the aqueous complex species and estimations of their association constants could be realized. The use of fifteen different aqueous complexing agents has lead to the estimation of over thirty association constants.
