Abstract

An easy and quick system is desirable to detect toxin-producing strains in view of the importance E. coli serotype O157:H7 in human diseases. We report standardization of a multiplex polymerase chain reaction (mPCR) test for simultaneous identification of four significant genes related with the life form E. coli O157:H7 viz, stx 1, stx 2, eae A, hly. An alongside an internal amplification control (IAC). The mPCR technique created in the present examination is sensitive enough to recognize cells as low as 10 3 CFU/mL or/g of the nourishment tests, the E. coli O157:H7 strains having been recognized to contain the gene in the mPCR were unequivocally identified positive for the serological and conventional culture strategy.
