Abstract

A mathematical convolution technique that provides simple, rapid detection of ion transport events when applied to the analysis of biological membrane conductance measurements is described. The method offers several advantages over the usual method of threshold detection. These advantages include the ability to detect multiple channel events and selectively remove possible false events whilst using a fast and simple to implement algorithm.
