Abstract

Based on an earlier study we found that the principles of cognitive load learning theory could be successfully applied to the design of educational Web sites. Our finds were based on user testing the Web site's interface, content, graphics, and self-test. Of the four components user tested, the self-test was the weakest component. This finding led to further investigation of mastery of the instruction. This presentation reports on the structuring of the content as well as the actual content, navigational map, and the storyboards incorporating games to test the mastery of the Web site's content. These games were designed to incorporate holistic learning and increase the interactivity between the learner and the instructional content.
