Abstract

Transcranial electrical stimulation, as a widely used non-traumatic brain stimulation technology, has been widely used in medicine. At present, there are many types of electric stimulation devices on the market, but most of them are self-designed to achieve some certain simple therapeutic goals. This paper first introduce the design principles and requirements of transcranial electric stimulation system, and then design the signal generator part of the system. In order to meet the requirements of multi-mode stimulation, this paper designed a set of signal generator circuit which can generate the sine wave, square wave, sawtooth wave and a modulation waveform with the adjustable frequency. The signal generator, MAX038, can create a signal of different waveforms, which controlled by MCU, and the switching ADG1434 can achieve the conversion between different stimulus modes. The experimental results show that the signal generation system can output sine wave, pulse wave, sawtooth wave and modulated wave independently and control coupling output, so as to meet different therapeutic targets.
