Abstract

Because of the alarming rates of severe maternal mortality and morbidity (SMM), our health care system’s national leadership mandated that all perinatal physicians and associates participate in three simulations per year addressing one of three topics or a combination thereof: obstetric hypertension, postpartum hemorrhage, and shoulder dystocia. Providing simulations for as many as 500 associates and 85 physicians three times a year while adhering to COVID-19 guidelines necessitated the creation of an effective, sustainable, interdisciplinary program implemented across five network birth centers.
