Abstract

Derbidae are one of the largest families among the Fulgoroidea, and species are often found on many palm species such as Areca, Cocos and Elaeis. The first record of Proutista moesta (Westwood) is given for Papua New Guinea (Northern Province). The distribution and aspects of the biology are discussed.
