Abstract
In this paper, quasi-brittle fracture along (1 0 0) plane in three dimensions was obtained with successive over relaxation numerical simulation and elastic network model (∼6.14×10 6 atoms) for BCC metals in fracture Mode I. The material-dependent parameter, G 0/ G, was introduced in this simulation. G and G 0 are the parameters related to the elastic moduli of the nearest and second neighbour bonds, respectively. The fractal dimensions of quasi-brittle fracture surfaces were investigated for different materials with the same quenched disorder in three dimensions. The fractal dimension of quasi-brittle fracture surface varies with material parameter, G 0/ G. However, it seems that the fractal dimensions of quasi-brittle surfaces cannot be a universal value. There may be so-called different universal fractal dimensions for different fracture surfaces in some cases.
