Abstract
Field emission energy distribution (FEED) of an individual SWCNT shows multi-peak feature and confirms that electric field competes with temperature, resulting in no emission peak above Fermi energy. At a constant applied voltage, increasing temperature increases the intensity of all field emission peaks and shifts the peaks towards the higher energy. At a constant temperature, increasing the applied electric field shifts FEED toward lower energy. The experimental results support the theoretical prediction qualitatively
