Abstract

The paper addresses the kinetics of air oxidation of soot in the presence of copper and cobalt oxides which were added in the form of metal acetates or nitrates. The activity of oxides is assessed by the catalytic constants for only the catalytic reaction picked out from the overall process. The oxides derived from nitrates are more active, and the activity ratio between the copper and cobalt oxides depends on the precursor from which they were produced.
