Abstract

The rate of neurofilament transport in somatic oculomotor axons is 2-3 times faster than 1t 1s in the preganglionic parasympathetic oculomotor axons of young chickens. The rate of neurofilament transport may be influenced by the lateral interactions between neurofilaments. To determine whether the lateral Interactions between neurofilaments differs between the somatic motor and the parasympathetic axons, we determined the neurofilament density 1n these axons.
