Abstract

(Int J Obstet Anesth. 2023;53:103618) Anesthesiologists play an integral role in the care provided to patients in maternity units by administering peripartum anesthesia and analgesia and sharing the responsibility of safe care. Yet the efficacy of their role is dependent on the organization of anesthesia services and how they are resourced. As the information on how obstetric anesthetic resources are lacking in the United Kingdom, the aim of this survey was to determine current obstetric anesthesia service delivery and staffing resources in the United Kingdom to guide care teams and achieve key national recommendations and benchmarks.
