Abstract

The present study aimed to reveal the degree of effectiveness of alternative evaluation in public schools in Ramallah and Al-Bireh governorate from the teachers' point of view. To achieve the aim of the study, a questionnaire was developed consisting of (30) items distributed into three domains, and it was confirmed its validity and reliability, and then distributed to the study sample consisting of (400) male and female teachers. It was chosen by simple random method, Descriptive methodology was used in this study, The results showed that the degree of effectiveness of alternative evaluation in public schools in Ramallah and Al-Bireh governorate was moderate, The results of the study showed that there were no statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the respondents on the total score due to the gender variable, Academic qualification, years of experience. In light of the findings of the study, the two researchers recommended a number of recommendations, including: Reconsidering evaluation practices that depend on traditional tests in evaluating students ’performance, such as audiovisual media, the use of sound, movement, images and animated videos.
