Abstract Statistical results are presented for an analysis of 162 DA degenerate stars (those with hydrogen atmospheres). It is shown that multichannel-spectrometer colors for groups of similar stars lie close to those predicted from pure hydrogen atmospheres for certain models and that the temperatures obtained from fitting energy distributions to models agree with those from the G-R and U-V colors. Statistically treated equivalent widths are found to agree with theoretical predictions. These widths suggest that mean log g must exceed 7.0 and probably lies above or near 8.0; the colors are consistent with log g near or above 8.0. The space frequency of stars in the sample is derived from the number of stars within limits of effective temperature.
