Abstract

The decomposition kinetics of supersaturated FCC Al1-xSix solid solutions has been studied in the wide concentration range x<or=0.1 by the resistivity relaxation method and the differential scanning microcalorimetry technique. It was established by an original 'set of steps' isothermal annealing procedure that the spinodal boundary probably occurs at x approximately=0.08 in these substances and the last stages of the decomposition process correspond to coagulation with Delta rho approximately t-1/5 behaviour at intermediate temperatures.
