Abstract
In an area which, for many years, showed the highest incidence of tuberculosis in England, the chest clinic has been completely absorbed into a general hospital. The decline in tuberculosis and the change in methods, personnel and organisation which this entails are described. Good tuberculosis control can be continued without any special chest clinic facility.
