Abstract
According to the initial conditions and the constraints of the recovery and landing process for the Shenzhou spacecraft, and its related characteristics, it is put forward the overall scheme and hierarchical parachute system deceleration scheme in the paper. The parachute opening mode and working procedures is designed, especially the pre-inflation control technology with a combination of the apex parachute and vent control bridle for the large main parachute opening characteristics is used firstly. In the process of the parachute deployment and initial inflation, the effective control of the main parachute top all the time is achieved, the forming of bull whipping phenomenon is solved effectively, the reliability of the main parachute opening is ensured. The reliability of the parachute system is verified by lots of ground tests, simulation tests, drop tests, unmanned flight tests and manned flight tests. It is indicated that the parachute system for Shenzhou spacecraft is stable and reliable, which can ensure the safety of capsule landing and astronauts return.
