The Decays of Heavy Quarkonium as a Test of QCD

Abstract

We review the predictions of standard QCD quark model for the decays of heavy quarkonium states (ψ), ηc, T, etc.) and discuss the possibility of using them as a simple and clean test of QCD. Any effort has been made to skip theoretical technicalities and to concentrate mainly on underlying physical assumptions, in the hope of obtaining a text not disagreeable to an experimentalists’ audience.
