Abstract
1. Reaction of diazoalkanes with various derivatives of 2,6-di-tert-butyl-1,4-benzoquinone is a convenient method for the synthesis of substituted Δ1-indazolines. 2. Under conditions of acid catalysis the 6,7a-di-tert-butyl-4,7-dioxo-3a,7a-dihydro-3-Hindazolines are converted into the corresponding indazoles with splitting off of the tert-butyl group. A mechanism of the given reaction is proposed and proven.
