Abstract
Germinal centers (GC) may develop in follicles of peripheral lymphoid organs as response to stimulation with T cell dependent antigens (for review see Nieuwenhuis and Opstelten, 1986). Essentially, GC are clusters of actively dividing B lymphoblastoid cells which are thought to give rise to memory-B cells. In addition to B cells, GC are composed of some T (helper) cells and a specific non-lymphoid cell, the follicular dendritic cell.KeywordsGerminal CenterFollicular Dendritic CellPeripheral Lymphoid OrganGerminal Center CellLeucocyte Common AntigenThese keywords were added by machine and not by the authors.
