The cutaneous manifestations of diabetes mellitus

Abstract

In the last 10 years many new associations between diabetes mellitus and the skin have been noted. Diabetes mellitus is a common disease, and the cutaneous manifestations of it are frequently encountered by the practicing dermatologist. This article reviews the spectrum of dermatologic signs and symptoms of diabetes mellitus, with special emphasis on those manifestations newly discussed in the literature of the last decade.
