Abstract
In this chapter we assume that the reader is acquainted with the basic definitions concerning the modular curve X 1(N). We wish to analyze its cuspidal divisor class group. It turns out we find an analogous theory to the case of X(N), provided we restrict ourselves to part of this divisor class group, as described in §2 and §3.
