Abstract

The White House Conference on Education during the summer of 1965 ended with a call for education to get on the move. The MENC convention theme, “The Changing Curriculum in Music Education,” reflects the necessity for music teachers to keep abreast of developments in music and in education, and to exercise leadership in initiating desirable changes. This article points out the relevance of recent curriculumreforms for music education.
