Abstract

In the context of the deepening of computer science and technology and digitalization, the innovative application of virtual reality technology in the teaching environment and methods of colleges and universities highlights its value. This paper firstly compares the recent research on the application of virtual reality technology in experimental and practical teaching; next, it elaborates its application status in detail and specifically through three subject areas: political science, medicine, and psychology. The immersive teaching environment built by virtual reality technology provides students with multichannel perception, body movement participation, etc. to help teach more efficiently. Finally, the challenges of this technology being widely used in higher education are presented and an attempt is made to look at its future.
