Chemometrics and Intelligent Laboratory Systems , 19: 217–223. A novel approach for solving some frequently encountered questions concerning substituent effects on chemical shifts in 13 C NMR spectroscopy has been implemented in the CSEARCH-NMR data base system. The features and possible applications of the method are described in detail and some examples are given.
