Abstract
Zeolite A, a hydrated, crystalline framework aluminosilicate containing exchangeable cations in tunnels and cages, is a potential matrix for the burial of radioactive waste. The material is extremely sensitive to electron irradiation and the crystalline to amorphous transition has been studied using a JEOL 200CX electron microscope.
