Abstract
Single crystals of trans-[Cr(NH 3) 2(cyclam)]Cl 2(ClO 4) (cyclam = 1,4,8,11-tetraazacyclotetradecane) have been prepared by recrystallisation of the chloride salt from aqueous HCl/NaClO 4 solution. Their structure has been determined by X-ray diffraction. Doublet emission and doublet absorption spectra have been recorded at different temperatures. At 20 K energy transfer to low energy traps occurred, causing a drastic change of the spectral properties.
