Abstract

Today, people, societies, and states use different indicators when they express their thougths, political visions and official ideologies. Internet and tv serials play significant roles in transporting messages sent by indicators. Thus, an incredible infuensial power is established through these serials. Presidents or high level administrators manage perception process to oriente people by using various means of mas communication. Public administrators are able to use media in different ways for convincing and informing people at the rate and topics that ruling power wants, by targetting to affect their attitudes, to establish perceptions, and to manage thier expectations, to catch these targets in particularly designed serials, emotional forms such as subject, image, negative and positive content, horror, joy, heroism, bravery, and patriotism. One of such serials that recently followed densly is “The Crown” expressing the life of “Quin Elizabeth II”. Kingdom family and particularly Quin Elizabeth II is both political and popular figure. On the other hand, Quin Elizabeth II is a beloved and followed character. Therefore, her messages given to people by her clothes and behaviors are closely followed. In this study, a semiotic analysis on costumes of “Quine Elizabeth II” as a real historical character and prime role in the serial of “The Crown” prepare by Peter Morgan for Left Bank and Netflix and produced by Sony Pictures, is aimed. Although “The Crown” serial an upper indicator, within this indicator, meaning codes have been focused on costumes of “Quine Elizabeth II” character and tried to realize a reading.
