Abstract

Abstract Within the framework of the transverse spin - 1 2 Ising model and by using the effective field theory with a probability distribution technique that accounts for the self-spin correlations, we have studied the critical properties of the Ba x Sr 1 - x TiO 3 system. In particular, we have studied the polarization as function of both the temperature T and the Ba concentration x, the critical temperature T c ( x ) as function of x, and also the dielectric susceptibility χ ( T , x ) for different values of the strength of the applied electric field E.
