Abstract

This research clarifies the crime of discharging, pouring, or collecting polluting substances for water sources within the territorial limits in the Jordanian legislation, as the dilemma of the research is the absence of effective penal provisions that prevent the offender from committing the crime of discharging, pouring, or collecting polluting substances for water sources. In this research, several results and recommendations have been reached, the most important of which is the need for the Jordanian criminal legislator to establish deterrent legal provisions that lead to not committing the crime of discharging, pouring, or collecting polluting substances for water sources, so that, the countries of the world strive to preserve the territorial waters from any environmental pollution, to preserve the regional water resources, these countries imposed a penalty on those who pollute the regional waters in any way, as the Jordanian legislator did, whereby he imposed penalties and punishments on actions that would pollute the regional waters in Jordan.
