Abstract

Reported crimes have declined in some major cities after the imposition of restrictions on businesses and residents to reduce the spread of the COVID-19 virus. The Balkin-McDonald (1981) model of street crime is used to explain the outcomes. Recent crime rate data from five major cities are provided.
