Abstract

A new method for solving terminal control problems for dynamical systems is announced. In the method the initial system is supplemented with equations for the derivatives of the control and the terminal problem is restated as two associated Cauchy problems. In the case of flat systems, the method generalizes a previously used approach. By choosing a larger solution set, additional constraints on the states and controls can be taken into account. A class of nonflat systems is identified to which this method applies.
