The couplings of heavy quarks to the Z0 boson

Abstract

In this paper we present an overview of the results on the coupling of the heavy quarks ( b and c) to the Z 0 boson from the SLD detector at SLAC. These results are final or almost final, based on the full 1993–1998 dataset of 550 000 hadronic Z 0 decays produced with an average electron polarization of 73%. The measurements are of the hadronic branching fractions into heavy quarks ( R b , R c ), the b quark asymmetry ( A b ) using jet charge, and the heavy quark asymmetries ( A b and A c ) using leptons and using vertex charge and kaons.
