Abstract

Bacterial vaginosis (BV) has been linked to postoperative infections after gynecologic procedures; data regarding obstetrical outcomes after BV are mixed. Currently, screening and treatment of BV is not recommended prior to delivery. We sought to investigate the cost-effectiveness of testing and treating BV to reduce rates of endometritis and surgical site infection (SSI) after delivery.
