Abstract

By substituting partly Yb, Ca, and Ni for Y, Ba and Cu in YBa 2Cu 3O 7−y respectively, the doping effect on structure and superconductivity has been studied. It is found that, the distortion of orthorhombic structure is weakened by the substitution on the place of Y, but the change of T c is not distinct; the structure and superconductivity change obviously by the substitution on the place of Ba and the change of structure and T c is the most obvious by the substitution of Ni for Cu. The results above confirm further that the Cu-O one-dimensional chain is the key to the problem of high-T c superconductivity of YBa 2Cu 3O 7−y.
