Abstract

Purpose: Osteoarthritis is the most common arthritis disease, the knee joint is the most often involved. The main pathological changes are the destruction of articular cartilage, the joint space narrow, osteophytes formation and destruction of subchondral bone. The pathogenesis of OA is complex, and effective therapy is not available currently. Recently, many studies demonstrated that LDL plays a critical role in the development of OA, ox-LDL may involve in synovitis, chondrocytes destruction and bone deformation.
