Abstract

Rotary steerable drilling is the development direction of modern drilling technology. Wellbore Trajectory Control Tool is the directive rotary steerable drilling tool. Signal transmission is an important part in automatic control of rotary steerable drilling technology. At present, mud-pulse has been used as the main way to control the downward transmission of signal. Radio frequency identification device (RFID) technology is an automatic identification technology which communicates with radio wave. RFID has the advantages of rapid identification, large data storage capacity, updating data and so on. In recent years, the application of RFID in oil field has made some progress, and it has improved the operating efficiency of oil well effectively and reduced the cost for well drilling. In this article, we come up with the application of existing RFID technology to signal transmission in the Wellbore Trajectory Control Tool, including the control system and method.
