Abstract

Objective To explore the characteristics of migrant laborers' children' s behavioral and emo-tional problems. Methods After the stratified and cluster random sampling,642 migrant laborers' children as the study group,585 local children as the control group. Child Behavior Checklist (CBCL) ,the Screen for Child Anxi-ety Related Emotional Disorders (SCARED) and Depression Self-rating Scale for Children (DSRSC) were adopted to evaluate behavior and emotional problems. Results Comparison with the local children groups, behavioral total score, withdrawn, depression and anxiety, social intercourse problem, aggression and introversion performance were higher in the migrant laborers' children, and the performance of the study group were worse than that of the control group. And the study group had significant higher scores of anxiety, depression, generalized anxiety, social phobia and school phobia than that of the control group. Conclusion The migrant laborers' children have more behav-ioral problems, depression and anxiety. Key words: Migrant laborers' children; Behaviour; Anxiety; Depression
