Abstract

Trials conducted in California over a 2-year period have shown that binapaeryl is an effective acaricide. Its acaricidal properties have been evident in areas where organophosphate resistant populations were prevalent. Various rates and formulations, as well as times of application, were evaluated during this period. Species controlled include the two-spotted spider mite, Tetranychus telarius (L.) on pears; Pacific spider mite, Tetranychus pacificus McGregor on grapes; European red mite, Panonychus ulmi (Koch) on pears and apples; and brown mite, Bryobia arborea Morgan and Anderson on almonds.
