Abstract

Full thickness wound biopsy semiquantitative cultures obtained at 2 or 3 day intervals from the time of injury to eschar separation are valuable in the management of burn wounds. The response to antibacterial therapy can be monitored by changes in the concentration of organisms or changes in the types of bacteria colonizing the burn wound.
