Abstract

It is shown that the intrinsic anisotropy of point defect diffusion rates may be large enough to contribute significantly to irradiation growth in zirconium. Lack of knowledge of the properties of point defects in zirconium prevents a reliable estimate of the magnitude of the effect being made.
