Abstract

The article analyzes a number of scientifi c developments published on pages of the Military Medical Journal, which, in our opinion, laid the foundations for studying the whole complex of problems in the historiography of the medical suply of the Red Army in 1941–1945. The works of this periodical were among the fi rst to shed light on the military medicine of the Soviet troops of given period, which caused an interest to researchers of history. Nevertheless, the researchers tried to address the most urgent issues in the works of their colleagues, among which the issue of military surgery and therapy. Among important questions that were interesting for authors may also be included the analysis of defi ciencies that mainly begin to rise only in the 1980s. Characteristic for the writers’ works to the mentioned publication is that they paid more attention to studying this problem more from a medical point than history.
